One of the frustrations for those of us working with Assistive Technology is the lack of speech recognition for children.  As children produce sounds differently than adults do, as well as using different phrasing and word order, ‘traditional’ speech recognition software does not work well for them. This article talks about recent research and developments in the US which gives hope that this may change.
