Here are a couple of very short videos demonstrating how the Amazon Echo can be used to control various appliances or answer questions purely via voice control.  As with the previous video we shared (regarding hands-free control of infrared appliances) this low-cost, mainstream technology can have a huge positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities.  The Amazon Echo could prove beneficial to someone with poor fine motor skills or a brain injury where sequencing the various stages of a task is difficult.  Using this technology alongside other peripherals (such as the Wemo Wi-Fi power socket) can give a disabled individual significant level of independence.
